An informal talk to help parents get their heads around gaming.
About this event
This interactive event offers a fantastic opportunity for parents who need a bit of help understanding the world of gaming and how to ensure their kids keep safe while they enjoy playing on their devices.
Our expert panel including a Mobile Phone Expert, Gamer and Cyber Crime Expert will ensure you leave with a stronger grip on what games are appropriate for different ages and the issues to watch out for.
Come along to see first-hand some of the most popular games and get a better insight into what your kids are up to when they play on their devices.
If you’re a parent that struggles with anything more advance than a nice platform game, this informal session is for you.
Top and tailed with some purely social time, this event will also give you a chance to catch up with friends and meet some new ones who are going through similar experiences to you.
Our expert panel will provide answers to the following questions:
- What are the most popular games kids are playing today?
- Are the age limits printed on games realistic?
- How long should I let my kids play for at a time? How can I limit gaming time?
- Is it possible to view what my kids are doing via my device?
- Should I restrict gaming to certain areas of the house as I’ve heard that letting kids use electronics in their bedrooms can lead to a lot of anxiety particularly around sleep?
- What should I be aware of when setting up accounts for my kids to play?
- Is playing online with friends safe?
- How can I ensure my kids aren’t exposing themselves to strangers?
- What are the online dangers I should be aware of and are there any specific signs that suggest someone is not who they seem?
- How can I ensure my kids avoid buying in-app purchases?
- What are the tricks that kids use to get past restrictions set on their devices?
