CMDT Live Projects Showcase & Presentation Session
Tue 21 March 2017, 17:00 – 18:00 GMT
As part of the School of Computing, Mathematics & Digital Technology's ongoing efforts to strengthen and develop our relationships with industry partners, we would like to invite you to join us for a two-part event, meeting with both our students and our academic team.
Live Projects Showcase - 3-5pm
The afternoon will begin with a showcase of student work completed as part of the Live Projects Scheme. This is a programme through which local organisations, including businesses, charities and community groups, can take on the role of a client and commission our undergraduate computing students to complete a real project, benefiting from their knowledge and enthusiasm, while offering them an opportunity to work with real industry problems. We invite you to offer feedback on the projects and the creative solutions implemented by the teams.
Interlude for light refreshments and networking
Industry Engagement Presentations - 5-6pm
Following the showcase session, we will be holding a series of brief presentations, highlighting some of our key engagement opportunities and the ways in which we work with our industry partners. The presentation schedule will be as follows:
5:00-5:15 - Mr Keith Miller, Head of School of Computing, Mathematics & Digital Technology - Introduction and overview
5:15-5:30 - Prof. Martyn Amos, Director of Informatics Research Centre - Research and Knowledge Exchange
5:30-5:45 - Dr Alan Crispin, Principal Lecturer - Knowledge Transfer Partnerships
5:45-6:00 - Dr Darren Dancey, Head of Division of Computer Science & Information Systems - Degree Appenticeships Programme
Please select a ticket to indicate whether you would like to join us for both sections of this event or just for one. We look forward to welcoming you to our campus and to exploring the ways in which we can collaborate with and support our local industry partners.
