Description

In the fifth issue of the postdoctoral career symposia series, the University of Edinburgh is excited to welcome Denise Barrault from the National Phenotypic Screening Centre and University of Edinburgh to share an honest account of her career journey with our Post Docs.

Dr Denise Barrault

Denise was appointed Executive Director of the NPSC in November 2015. In this position, she implements the NPSC's strategy to align with university and industry partner's aspirations to deliver the benefits to health and economy. Following a PhD at the University of Keele, Denise started her career at Life Technologies as a team leader. Denise went on to do postdoctoral studies at the Institute for Immunology and Infection at the University of Edinburgh.

Moving back to industry Denise joined Lab901 Ltd as a Product Manager, when it was a fledgling start-up and it is now owned by Agilent Technologies. She then joined SULSA as Executive Director in 2010, where she implemented SULSA's strategy across six member Universities in Scotland. Now reporting to NPSC's Director, Denise is responsible for the overall management, governance and promotion of NPSC as well as the establishment of new interactions and collaborations with industry.

The seminar will be followed by drinks and nibbles.
