Event description

Description

Looking out from the viewing platform at the Bywyd Gwyllt Glaslyn Wildlife visitors centre, you will see the shapely mountain of Cnicht. Sometimes called the Welsh Matterhorn because of its pyramidal shape. When a child draws a picture of a mountain, this is the profile they would draw.

At only 689m high, it not the highest mountain you will ever climb, but I can guarantee that once you have completed it, it will go down as one of you favourites. Amazing panoramic views from the summit. To the north, the Snowdon Massif and The Nantlle Ridge. To the south, Trawsfynydd and the Rhinogydd mountain range. To the west, Cardigan Bay and the Irish sea, and to the east Moel Siabod and over to the Berwyns and beyond

Join us on this fully guided mountain walk with fully qualified mountain leaders to raise funds and awareness for the amazing work that the Osprey project do. The walk will be around 7 miles and is suitable for children over 10 years old. (Please note, all children must be accompanied by legal guardian.)

You will need to bring a pair of walking boots or walking shoes, food and drink, waterproof over trousers and coat, hat and gloves. (please, no jeans).

The cost of the walk is £15 per adult with under 18’s free of charge. (2 free child places for each paying adult.) All proceeds going to the project.

We will meet at the visitor centre between 9 and 9.30am on Sunday 26th May. We will then take a short drive to the village of Croesor to begin the walk at around 10am.
