Childhood neurodivergence: Understanding and Supporting your child or young person when they are hurting themselves

Is your child doing things to hurt themselves? This is a workshop to help you understand why your child may be hurting themself and consider ways you can support them. This workshop will be delivered by the Psychology in Schools Team (NSFT) and is part of the Neurodevelopmental Workshop Series.

This workshop will provide an introduction to the topic. We understand that some participants may already have prior knowledge in this area, which may overlap with the content covered. We appreciate your patience as we aim to make our workshops accessible to parents and carers with a range of experience and understanding.

Please note that parent/carer workshops are designed to offer general guidance and support for understanding self-harm. They are not intended to replace urgent mental health support. For urgent mental health support, Call 111 and select the mental health option to speak to the 24-hour urgent mental health helpline. If someone has attempted suicide, call 999 and stay with them until help arrives. In life threatening emergencies, if anyone is at serious risk of harm, call 999
