Event description

Description

"Inter-professionalism: Working better together - How will inter-professionalism help build an effective workforce for the Future NHS" is the 2nd CNWL annual multi-professional health education conference.

The conference will be taking the theme of the redesign of the NHS workforce in order to meet the health and social challenges of the future, including the ability to anticipate, shape and work with the new, social, political and technological landscapes, which will define health practise in the 21st century. i.e. new and advanced skill sets, new practices and new roles, widening participation and self-care to meet the challenge of changing demographics, rising patient expectations of safety, quality and involvement in decision making, increasing population, new career structures and new technologies of practice and learning.

By bringing together international experts and frontline NHS staff from a range of providers and settings, this event aims to foster the conditions for a unique and constructive dialogue leading to an enhanced mutual understanding and strategic alignment of leaders and professionals going forwards.

This conference is in memory of Dr Rizgar Amin, who worked for CNWL and sadly passed away in 2013. In honour of Dr Amin, an awards programme for trainers, trainees and students was launched and the winners will be announced on the day.

The Conference will be held on the 22nd of February 2017 at the Royal College of GP's in London, nearest station Euston Square, followed by a networking event.

There will be outstanding keynote speakers, interactive workshops and a multi-disciplinary debate.

Keynote speakers will include:

  • Prof. Ian Curran: Professor of Innovation & Excellence in Healthcare Education at Queen Mary University of London and Assistant Director of Education and Professional Standards at the GMC

  • Prof. Liz Hughes: Director of Education & Quality, Health Education England (London & South East)

  • Prof. Scott Reeves: Professor of Interprofessional Research, Kingston University & St George's University of London

  • Prof. Roy Lilley: NHS writer, broadcaster and NHS policy analyst

Interactive workshops will take place in the morning and afternoon sessions and will feature celebrated interprofessional projects and thought provoking initiatives with set learning outcomes.
