As many of you will already know the Curriculum for Wales is changing. There are also upcoming changes to improve how we assess pupils, support learners with additional needs, teacher training and school accountability.

The national curriculum was first introduced in 1988 before on-line shopping, Google and the Cloud.

Now, work is different, technology is different, society is changing and there is a need for a curriculum to prepare young people to thrive in a future where digital skills, adaptability and creativity - alongside knowledge - are crucial. We want children to enjoy learning, and develop skills, knowledge and emotional resilience.

The four purposes are at the heart of our new curriculum. They are the starting point for all decisions on the content and experiences developed as part of the curriculum. More than that, they are designed to influence how practitioners plan, teach and assess. We are very keen to share with you, and include you in our curriculum development journey to design a curriculum which is underpinned by the aims, values and vision for our school community and the children within it.

We will be hosting a number of curriculum workshops in January 2020 to share our work so far and collaboratively shape the school’s vision in order to provide exceptional opportunities for our children to learn, have fun and grow in confidence whilst creating lasting childhood memories. Workshops will be held on the following dates:

Friday 17th January @ 9.15-10.15am

Wednesday 22nd January @ 3.30-4.30pm for FAMILIES (Parents, children and staff working together)

Wednesday 22nd January @ 6-7pm
