Why this workshop?
Discover the future of osteoarthritis (OA) self-management! While digital tools are abundant, many face hurdles like low adoption, poor adherence, and issues with equity. Join our dynamic participatory workshop where patients, clinicians, researchers, developers, and commissioners unite to co-create innovative, practical solutions for more effective and user-friendly tools.
You’ll leave with:
- A concise evidence toolkit including scoping and Delphi highlights.
- 2-3 key concepts prioritised by the group
- A collaboration roster for future funding applications
- A certificate of participation or CPD (attendance)
Who should attend?
- People living with osteoarthritis / patient advocates
- Clinicians (physio, MSK, rheumatology, primary care)
- Researchers in digital health, behaviour change, MSK
- Developers, product managers, UX/designers
- NHS/health system commissioners & service leads
What we’ll do (3 hours)
- Patient story: lived experience to anchor the session
- Lightning evidence: key findings from a scoping review & Delphi study (features & barriers)
- Facilitated discussions: exploring what works, for whom, and why; identifying barriers to adoption and adherence
- Co-design sprint (breakouts): transforming one priority barrier into a “how might we” concept, including a simple user journey and measurable enablers for adoption and adherence
- Report-back & dot-vote: choosing the top 2–3 ideas for action
- Collaboration mapping: identifying who wants to lead and what support is needed
