‘Co-creating the Commons of health and how together we will make it work’
Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM
London, United Kingdom
Raising awareness of our possibilities for generative action in healthcare.
Creating connections for sustained shared attention and structures of engagement for doing what needs to be done to make sustainable healthcare possible.
Formulating an idealized (re-)desing of a sutainable healthcare system, while looking for new rules and principles underlying such a system
This will be a one day gathering of people who may or may not work in the health and/or socialcare sector and whose hearts know that a sustainable healthcare system is possible. We invite professionals in both health and social care, decision makers, budget holders and everyone affected by the way our healthcare system works into a safe space to a day of action orientated exploration.
In the first part we will be exploring the commons framework and how it is a useful model for sustainable healthcare.
We will gain understanding in how the commons framework provides a practical and strategically important way to empower civil society to take an active part in the future of healthcare.
We will hear different speakers talk about current social practices which point beyond the status quo towards a sustainable health care system.
The second part of the gathering will be dedicated to formulating a policy agenda for the Commons of Health while learning how to grow our common understanding and capability to make a sustainable healthcare system a reality.
The experience of commoning will encourage us to access and develop our creativity, to nurture and express our compassion and to use our shared knowledge & experience and collective wisdom to confidently build a sustainable and thriveable healthcare system
