Event description

Description

"Co-creating Today's Technology: Young User Approach" brings together local tech, young people, children, parents, and teachers for a morning of innovation and free access to some of the latest development in our city.

A new type of event that seeks to open a dialogue, encouraging people to get involved in the process of developing technology, providing an insight into their needs, experiences, and expectations.

We seek to empower parents, teachers and young people to be part of the technology that companies and organizations are developing in Bristol in an informal and accessible way.

With this aim, we have invited the following local organizations to share and showcase their products to our audience, focusing on the subject "Tech Supporting Young People's Well-being"

1. Expert Self-Care: Smartphone app providing reliable and accessible health information for university and school students. Developed in collaboration with student and health experts from the University of Bristol.

2. Screen Time Labs: App to help parents manage the time kids spend on their tablets and smartphones.

3.Virtual Reality and Autism: Research by the University of West England that explores the uses of Virtual Reality to help children and young people with autism.** Attendees must be aware that some guidelines regarding the use of a VR headset advise a minimum age of 13 years.

4. Momo (Mind of my own) App that helps children with learning difficulties or who have been in care to express their feelings and views.

Also, My Future, My choice will bring a card game to encourage parents and children to talk about happiness and personal development.

Children under the age of 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

This event is supported by UNLTD Foundation.

Refreshments such as teas, coffees, and juice kindly sponsored by The Engine Shed
