Co-creative supervision lecture - with award-winning professor Keith Tudor

By Sari van Poelje

Overview

Drawing on some 25 years of development, this lecture offers an introduction to co-creativity.

The ‘co’ of co-creative emphasises the transactional, inter-relational, mutual, joint, and co-operative. The creative refers to what is original, imaginative, intuitive, and spontaneous about the encounter between human beings. Together, co-creativity describes what emerges and is influential between the psychotherapist, counsellor, educator, organizational consultant, or coach and their client. Drawing on some 25 years of his and Graeme Summers’ development of this concept, both within and beyond transactional analysis, this lecture (which will be delivered in English) offers an introduction to co-creative transactional analysis (TA) and its re-reading of traditional TA theory and practice.

Keith Tudor, PhD. MSc, MA, BA(Hons), Dip.Psychotherapy, CQSW, is a qualified social worker and psychotherapist, practicing in Aotearoa New Zealand as a health care provider. He is a Certified, and Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst, and an experienced supervisor and trainer of supervisors. He is Professor of Psychotherapy at Auckland Univesity of Technology, and the author/editor of over 400 peer-reviewed publications, including his latest books: The Cultural Therapist: Papers on Therapy & Culture (Routledge, 2026), (edited with Matt Bird) Karangarua: Unity Through Diversity in Transactional Analysis (Tuwhera, 2025), and Transactional Analysis Proper – and Improper(Routledge, 2025). He was the recipient, with Graeme Summers, of the 2020 Eric Berne Memorial Award (EBMA) for their work on co-creative transactional analysis, and of the 2025 EBMA for his own work on revitalising the critical and social edge of transactional analysis.
