Co-Design Essentials - Planning
Overview
On 5th February 2020, Scotland made a promise that all children would grow up loved, safe, and respected. (The Promise reports). A key component to make this a reality is the co-designing of services with children, young people and families. The Promise Scotland offers a range of support and resources to help organisations in Scotland to make the changes necessary to #keepthepromise.
Our Co- Design Essentials series aims to provide facilitators with the skills, tools and confidence they need for successful co-design journeys.
This Planning session aims to :
● Increase understanding of the different elements involved in facilitating Co -Design sessions and what this can look like in practice
● Increase knowledge of planning and preparation required for facilitating successful co-design
● Increase confidence in being prepared to start a co-design process
● Increase awareness of the importance of planning for impact
Advice from previous cohorts -
“Come prepared to engage to get the most out of the session”
“Come willing to collaborate and share. Ok to attend with curiosity”
“Make sure you protect the time and not be emailing or working at same time to get the most out of it”
This is the first in a series of three sessions which can be accessed on a stand-alone or course basis.
This session is aimed at anyone who is thinking about starting a co-design process or wants a reflective space to consider their current practice. As a pilot series we would also welcome seasoned co-designers to provide feedback on how we might further develop these sessions.
Please note this session does not cover 'Design' process itself, but allows you as a facilitator to be fully prepped and prepared for participatory practice.
