This is an invitation to attend one or a number of workshop events to enable the formation of collaborations and bid applications in the area of health, wellbeing and prosperity with a general focus on the Blackburn area. Funded by Lancaster University through its Strategic HEIF fund, we want to create a ‘bloom’ of new projects and funding in this area.

These activities grew from a new collaboration between Lancaster University (ImaginationLancaster, FHM, FST) with Blackburn College and Blackburn and Darwen Council to place ‘wellbeing sensors’ in 100 homes in Blackburn funded by the AHRC and the NHS Digital Health Board.

These bid writing workshops are a monthly series of events to co-design workshops alternating between Lancaster University and Blackburn. The co-design activities will involve representatives of the 5 core sponsoring partners from Lancaster and Blackburn together with other participants from private, public and university and voluntary sectors.

At least one of these core partners will champion each of these proposals, and we expect to also draw in new partners from across the university and from the private, public and voluntary sectors. We will be looking for RCUK funding but we will also have a strong emphasis on impactful funding such as Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs).
