Cross Party Group on Co-operatives - Co-operation in Finland

Co-operation in Finland will be the topic of the next Cross Party Group on Co-operatives on Tuesday 23 February at 6pm in the Scottish Parliament. The speaker will be Kari Huhtala, Director of co-operation with Pellervo, the Finnish co-op trade association.

Kari will discuss the scale of Finland's 5,000 co-operatives across traditional agriculture, retail and banking sectors as well as the new wave of co-op start-ups as a response to the economic depression of the 90's.

The event is organised with the help and support of Nordic Horizons, a think tank exploring nordic models for Scotland. It will be the final CPG meeting before the end of this Parliament and is free to attend.

A light buffet and refreshments will be available before the meeting begins. Participants should aim to arrive by 5.45pm to gain access to the Committee Room for the event.

Places should be booked online and are on a first come, first served basis.
