Co-Producing Dementia Understanding: VR Training Showcase & Celebration
Overview
Join us for a special celebration as we conclude our NIHR and Alzheimer’s Society funded project, co-produced with people affected by dementia, carers, researchers, and health professionals. During this event, we will present and demonstrate our new Virtual Reality (VR) training tool, designed to support better understanding of what dementia is, how it affects individuals, and how we can all support more inclusive, dementia-friendly communities.
This project has been built with and for people affected by dementia, ensuring their experiences, priorities, and voices shape the way others learn and train.
What to Expect
✔ Live demonstrations of the VR training tool
✔ Insight from people affected by dementia involved in co-production
✔ Reflections from the research team
✔ Discussion on future use and opportunities for scaling
✔ Networking with researchers, professionals, and community partners
✔ Working lunch provided
Accessibility
We aim to make this event inclusive. The venue is wheelchair accessible, and quiet space will be available. If you have any accessibility requirements, please let us know when registering.
About the Project
This project is funded by the Alzheimer’s Society, with co-production at its heart. The VR training tool emerging from this work will help improve training for retail workers, practitioners, carers, educators, and community organisations.
