About the Site
A unique shingle headland on the Kent coast, Dungeness is one of the UK’s migration hotspots. In October, seawatching often produces Gannets and the occasional Skua, while the Bird Observatory records passing Warblers and Chats. Around the power station, Black Redstarts and Peregrines are regular highlights, while the RSPB Reserve adds Marsh Harriers, Great White Egrets, Bearded Tits and the first returning flocks of winter wildfowl. Vast skies, shingle desert, and iconic lighthouses give the site a stark yet unforgettable backdrop.
