Event description

Description

In this volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world, leaders cannot always work out rationally what is the right step to take for themselves and their organisation. Sometimes, they must move forward with what feels right and be prepared to change direction based on what happens further down the road. But how do you decide on the best next step without knowing? This is where the “three intelligences” model come in. As coaches we can help our clients tune into these other intelligences, the head, the heart and the gut. It often proves most helpful to look at issues not just from a rational perspective but from an intuitive or emotional perspective as well, especially when clients are in discovery mode. In this Coaching Fishbowl, Lloyd Wigglesworth will demonstrate how to use this model to help a client see an issue from different perspectives before reaching a conclusion. If you want to be able to help your clients tune into their instinctive self, this model is a must for your coaching tool kit.

Lloyd Wigglesworth spent 30 years in corporate life before becoming a coach. He ran wildly differing companies ranging from bacon trading to magazine publishing and music distribution. He has always been fascinated by leadership and the question of what differentiates a good leader from an outstanding one. Ask him for a one-word answer and he would say it is “presence”. Can you help someone develop presence? “Absolutely. Most people have an inspiring natural presence, but you may have to help them discover it and show it”. Lloyd fell in love with coaching 20 years ago when he was promoted to his first main board position and was given a coach. He graduated from the Meyler Campbell Mastered programme in 2014, founded CEO Coaching and joined The Alexander Partnership earlier this year. The fictional character Biggles was partly based on his grandfather who flew in WW1 with the author WE Johns.
