Lancashire School of Business and Enterprise at UCLan are proud to now offer the ILM Level 5 Certificate in Effective Coaching & Mentoring.

This free taster session will provide attendees with an insight into Coaching & Mentoring, the ILM course that will be delivered and how developing these skills can benefit your career or organisation.

The session will provide a general introduction to the Coaching & Mentoring process and how creating a proactive coaching culture can contribute to supporting effective organisational, team and individual success.

Our free taster will help you recognise the many benefits of Coaching & Mentoring as a learning and development tool, including enhancing overall business performance, reinforcing a strategy for the well-being of staff and supporting staff retention.

Following the session you should understand how to develop and practise the core skills of listening and questioning used in Coaching & Mentoring and how this can encourage communication and help improve workforce development.

The taster will also outline an optional route to develop and accredit your Coaching & Mentoring skills. Providing an overview of studying this subject area at a higher level, which includes the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) part-time CPD course, with a chance to find out what this course entails and speak to the tutors.

This taster event is aimed at managers, HR/Learning & Development professionals, business owners or individuals with an interest in Coaching & Mentoring people.

This session will be facilitated by:

Maxine Rawlings lectures in human resource management practice at UCLan and has specific expertise in learning and development. She is an ILM accredited coach with over 12 years’ experience supporting managers and leaders at all levels in complex organisations and has delivered professional accredited courses for the CIPD and ILM.

David Opperman an experienced Executive Coach, who has coached clients from a variety of sectors and disciplines since the 1990’s, helping them to successfully develop their careers. His Executive Coaching style helps business professionals to develop their potential, achieve realistic ambitions and devise a strategy to achieve greater success.
