Event description

Description

Relational Dynamics 1st is delighted to invite you to attend the third in a series of training events organised in partnership with the National Theatre.

“Having had several staff members train as coaches through RD1st, the NT is now thrilled to be hosting the ‘Coaching Skills for Leadership’ courses, in order to support and encourage others to develop these critical inter-personal skills.”

Tony Peers, Director of HR, National Theatre

Who is the course for?

Do you wish to develop your leadership style using coaching techniques and approaches? Would you like to improve your ability to motivate and support others to improve their performance?

A coaching style of leadership is about learning not to lead in the traditional sense but more to facilitate others to come up with their own solutions. The leader holds more questions than answers and aims to develop the problem-solving muscle of teams, rather than being the one who solves the problems, thereby building greater capacity and engagement in those they work with.

What does it cover?

Topics explored in the training include:

  • Foundation coaching skills: philosophy and application
  • Active Listening and Effective Enquiry
  • Group coaching (using a simplified Action Learning model)
  • Coaching cultures and a coaching style of leadership

By the end of the day all participants will have:

  • Experienced coaching and being coached
  • Developed active listening and effective questioning skills
  • Explored the GROW model of coaching
  • Used their coaching skills in a group context through Action Learning

The course is accompanied by a manual.

What do previous participants say about the course?

It’s a chance to take time out of the hectic day-to-day and really think about how you can enable others and yourself to be the best you can be. Really valuable in all areas of life.’ Holly Conneely, Royal Court Theatre

Best and most profound course I have ever been on.’ Tom Hammond, Leeds College of Art.

It’s a great introduction to coaching which can be enjoyed by anyone from any field or industry.’ Rose Dalling, freelance fundraiser

A valuable and highly motivating introduction to thinking in a different way about dialogue with others, whether in the workplace or in personal life, friendships and relationships. Highly recommended.’ Helen Meaney, arts journalist and consultant

EARLY BIRD OFFER - 20% DISCOUNT IF YOU BOOK BEFORE 2ND MAY.

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Please contact claire@relationaldynamics1st.co.uk

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes - if you can no longer attender then your colleague can use your ticket, but please let us know directly or by updating your booking.

I have done an RD1st half or full day course before - what would this course offer me?

This course uses the same material as the one-day course we run on several leadership porgrammes, including Clore Leadership Programme, Clore Short Course and engage Extend programme. For those who have previously only done the half-day version, this course introduces Action Learning and the day includes several oportunities to apply and practice skills. The course is enjoyed by many people wanting to refresh, deepen and explore these skills and approaches further - even if they have experienced similar training in the past.
