Summary:

An empowering and practical half day session on essential coaching skills. This session explores coaching skills and to use them help you and others to progress further and faster along your and their life, career and leadership journey.  

This session provides:

• an empowering introduction for those who are new to coaching 
• a rich refresher for those who are trained coaches or familiar with it.

Aim:

 Discover - or rediscover - the power of coaching and how to use it skilfully and mindfully to help yourself and others to flourish. 

Objectives:

• Gain a rich understanding of coaching and what makes a good coach 
• Explore the essential coaching skills:  active listening, powerful questioning, SMART goal setting, reflection, feedback, summarising and action taking 
• Consider how you could use coaching skills for yourself and others 
• Learn the importance of developing a flexible approach to coaching to reflect embrace different personalities, learning styles, abilities, diversity and cultural differences 
• Discuss when to use coaching and value of internal and external coaches. 

Outcomes: You will leave this session with a sound understanding of coaching skills, and a deeper self-awareness to help you coach mindfully, effectively and compassionately. 

Prework: Bring along an issue that you could work on during the session.

 Rasheed Ogunlaru is a leading life coach, motivational speaker and leadership coach. He is author of Soul Trader – Putting the Heart into Your Business and The Gift of Inner Success. His clients include entrepreneurs, entertainers, leaders and organisations – including NHS Trusts and Leadership Academies. His media appearances include appearances on BBC and ITV News. He is known for his unique ‘become who you are’ approach and helps people of all backgrounds find lasting fulfilment – from within.  He is the life & business coach partner to the British Library’s Business & IP Centre. Rasheed is a trained trainer and qualified as a coach with distinction from The Coaching Academy in 2004. He has served as an associate coach with the academy for well over a decade.  Prior to becoming a coach Rasheed’s first career was in PR/ media – including as a press officer / media spokesman and media trainer for Which? He is a former Co-Director of Samaritans (Central London Branch) and is also a singer songwriter. He is also founder of Soul-Leader.biz his new resource for heart-centred, compassionate leadership.
