About this event

  • Event lasts 5 hours

Join professional forager Andrea Burnand from Pickle and Brew for a guided exploration of the stunning Flamborough coastline. Discover a wealth of wild coastal plants and seaweeds, rich in nutrients and full of flavour. Learn how to identify edible species that thrive along the shore and uncover their many health benefits.

During this hands-on experience, you'll sample unique coastal flavours and also keep an eye out for marine life in rockpools and along the rocky shore.

With years of experience foraging for both food and medicinal herbs, Andrea has a wealth of knowledge to share, including how she uses wild plants to support health and wellbeing in her herbal medicine clinics.

What's at the Living Seas Centre?

The Living Seas Centre is our events hub at South Landing, Flamborough. It's the perfect starting point for a relaxed, scenic walk around South Landing followed by lunch or a sweet treat at our neighbouring cafe Scrumdiddlyumptious-by-the-Sea.

What to bring/wear

This event takes place outside so brace yourself for the Yorkshire weather. We'd recommend sturdy and waterproof footwear or wellies, and lots of layers! If it's a hot day, remember a hat and suncream. We'd also recommend bringing a refillable water bottle.

Toilets and catering

There are toilets at the Living Seas Centre that will be open for event attendees. Refreshments are available at our neighbouring cafe, Scrumdiddlyumptious-by-the-Sea.
