Event description
Help us better inform future management decisions by improving the documenting of historical change along the English & Welsh coastlines.

About this event

Commissioned to review and document historical coastal change along English and Welsh coastlines, this Defra funded project aims to better inform future coastal management decision-making.

Over a series of two workshops, we will use stakeholder input to synthesize, rank and outline the barriers and opportunities of different techniques and technologies for mapping and quantifying the extent of historical coastal change.

During this first workshop (12 October 2021), participants will use their experience to identify techniques for deriving historical coastal change within different coastal environments. We will also investigate user requirements for coastal change data and the feasibility of meeting these requirements.

During the follow-up workshop (2 December 2021), participants will explore different historical coastal mapping technologies, enabling the workshop team to use this data to develop a ranking system.

Please register for both the first and second workshops at the same time. Once your interest is registered, we'll be in touch by email with details on how to secure your spot.

Registration is open until 2nd October 2021.
