Cob Oven Building Workshop

This is a hands-on experience building a cob oven from clay, brick and sand. Learn the basic skills to construct an outdoor oven at home or at a community space! This is a fun opportunity and a nice way to spend the brighter evenings this Spring! Children welcome. It is a 4 week course held for 4 consecutive Wednesday evenings. The fee is for the entire course (4 sessions).
This event is organised by CULTIVATE, supported by the Holywood Transition Towns and hosted by the Helens Bay Organic Gardens (HBOG) and the Community Gardens at HBOG. The workshops are led by Clive Lyttle of Wellig Heritage Arts.
Transport & parking options
There is plenty of parking at HBOG and the Helens Bay train station is a 10-15 minute walk from the garden.
What should I bring to the event?
Please wear clothing that is easily washable and can get dirty. Wellies are ideal footwear although bare feet will be a necessity for at least some participants! The workshops will still be held if there is rain and there is shelter, howeve, it is advisable to bring rainwear, wear warm layers and bring a towel.
