Cockcroft Institute Triple Celebration
Mon 10 April 2017, 11:00 – 15:00 BST
The Cockcroft Institute (CI) is a centre of excellence for particle accelerator R&D in the UK and is formed from a strong partnership between the Universities of Lancaster, Liverpool, Manchester and Strathclyde, and STFC’s Accelerator Science and Technology Centre. The Cockcroft Institute’s cross-cutting applications programme allows this expertise to be used to address global challenges in health, security, energy, manufacturing and the environment, and to train the next generation of accelerator experts.
I’d be delighted if you would join us at Daresbury Laboratory to celebrate three important milestones in the evolution of the Cockcroft Institute:
The relocation of the Institute onto the main Daresbury Laboratory site
The commencement of the Institute’s new STFC core funding
The accession of the University of Strathclyde to full Institute membership
You will hear about the exciting work taking place at the Cockcroft Institute as well as the latest developments in accelerator science and technology, and how they are impacting on society and the economy.
A buffet lunch will be served to all registered participants and car parking will be available for visitors.
Please register to confirm your attendance and your interest in participating in facility tours after lunch.
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any dietary requirements.
