Event description

Description

Join us for a networking event without the early start! In association with Pier Point Restaurant and Bar, Artizan Gallery welcomes you to Cocktails and Conversation.

At this new series of events, we’ll be inviting you to exclusively preview our monthly exhibitions before they open to the public with bespoke cocktails and canapés prepared by the legendary team from Pier Point and in addition will be welcoming an exciting line up of speakers to deliver inspiring talks on local cultural developments and what these mean for your businesses. Finally, we’ll wrap up each event with a cocktail demonstration from the knowledgeable Matt and Hugo.

About the Evening - Tickets include a welcome “Bubbles” Cocktail and drinks token for a second drink from the menu. Every month, we’ll have a new menu of four cocktails, all designed by Pier Point to complement the exhibition. We’ll be picking a different spirit each time and non-alcoholic options will also be available. This month’s spirit is Whisky!

About our Speaker - Our speaker this month will be local journalist and historian Dr Kevin Dixon. Alongside his work in health and social care in the Bay, Kevin has developed a fascination with Torbay’s diverse history and he now writes for a number of publications exploring the histories of Torquay’s ordinary and not-so-ordinary visitors.

We’ll be taking the opportunity to look at history and heritage in the Bay and Kevin’s talk, “Torquay Peculiar”, will delve into the lives of some of the lesser known people, places and events that have created our town, in what promises to offer a unique insight into the place we reside, and might just make you look at Torquay a little differently.

Having garnered acclaim in his native country as poet and performance artist "I Am Cereal Killer", New York resident Mark Wallis has never let go of his English roots.
