Event description

Description

This Code Club is organised by the Radio Communication Museum of Great Britain located in Derby and sessions are run by trained volunteers. The club is for children aged 10 to 16 years and it's free to join.

Children learn the basics and more advanced computer programming and how to create computer games and animations using Python. Once they have completed the Code Club training material they will progress onto more demanding projects using the Raspberry Pi and other computers.

The course will run on Thursday afternoon from 17.00 to 18.00 during term time, beginning 12 October 2017. It will finish on Thursday 14 December 2017. It will then recommence in the New Year

This club is for children who have already mastered the basic skills using Scratch and are ready to progress to more advanced coding skills, we run the PYTHON Code Club, at the same time as the SCRATCH club, so it is easy to move from one to the other.

When booking a place please give the child’s name, date of birth and school along with the email address and phone number(s) of their parent or carer. Please also indicate what computer coding (programming) they have already done.

We will contact the child’s parent or carer to confirm their child’s place.
