Code Club is a nationwide network of after-school coding clubs for children. All our clubs are led by volunteers and this training is designed to give volunteers all the information they need before they start running a Code Club.
Come along to this meetup of Primary Teachers hosted by the National Museum of Computing in Bletchley Park!
The training will cover:
An introduction to Code Club projects - Scratch for beginners, other projects will be available in HTML & CSS and Python for people who are familiar with the Code Club Scratch projects and want to try something new
Micro:bits - how to use them at your Code Club
Discussion - using technology effectively in the classroom
Who is the training for?
Primary teachers who are interested in Code Club but have not yet started one at their school and are keen to find out
Primary teachers already running their own Code Club who would like to connect with other people in the community.
“ As a classroom teacher, running a Code Club has been an invaluable experience in providing me the opportunity to learn and develop my understanding of coding languages such as Scratch. As a result, I am a lot more confident at teaching children in my classroom and sharing my knowledge with other teachers in the school."
Harminder, Code Club volunteer and KS2 teacher
