Event description

Description

Code Club is a nationwide network of after-school coding clubs for children. Code Clubs are led by volunteers - you don’t need to be a coding genius to volunteer! You just need to know one end of a mouse from the other and be willing to learn alongside the children.

This session aims to give volunteers who are new to coding all the information they need to start running a Code Club.

The training will cover:

  • What is Code Club?

  • What is coding and how do we give instructions to computers

  • Introduction to Scratch

  • Understand how to start a Code Club

Who is the training for? This training session is aimed at people who:

  • Who are new to coding and would like to learn by running a Code Club

“I am not a computer programmer and work in digital marketing. Code Club has definitely shown me learning new digital skills isn’t hard. If the kids can do it, so can I.”

Elbrie de Kock, Code Club volunteer

If you have any questions in advance of the session, please get in touch via southeast@codeclub.org.uk or @codeclubse on Twitter.

We look forward to meeting you there!
