Rev Dr Kevin Ellis is the Vicar of Holy Island and Team Leader of the Bro Cybi Ministry Area in the Diocese of Bangor. This encompasses Holyhead, Trearddur Bay and Rhoscolyn.
Prior to this, he served in the Dioceses of Birmingham and Carlisle in almost exclusively urban contexts. He has a New Testament PhD and is passionate about education as a means of giving life.
This paper will explore how using the Bible as an overall story (a la Tom Wright and others) can help people of whatever educational background connect with the sacred text. He will draw on how this works in contexts where people have generally a negative experience of formal learning.
Events will run over College lunchtimes. If you have College meals, please collect your meal ready for talks to start 1.10pm, otherwise please book in/bring packed lunch. Talks will last 20-30 minutes then discussion.
