According to recent statistics, 80-90% of the tech industry's work force is either white or asian. This means every other ethnic group combined has only a 10-20% reprensentation in the industry.
This needs to change.
Coders of Colour is a organisation set up to encourage and support the youth that are considering pursuing a career in the tech industry.We aim to start by running an introductory coding workshop day where teens will build a website using HTML and CSS.
You will need:
A laptop (if you really cannot bring a laptop, we will provide one)
Either a parent or parental consent

Itinerary for the day:
10:00 to 10:30 - Arrival, setup and icebreakers
10:30 to 12:30 - Coding Session 1
12:30 to 13:15 - Lunch with Panel session
13:15 to 15:15 - Coding Session 2
15:15 to 16:00 - Power down
Photos and videos will be taken at this event. If you are not comfortable with this, let us know when registering.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, it's not necessary to bring a printed ticket to the event. Showing the barcode from your phone on arrival should suffice.

Take Moorfields Eye Hospital exit, go aound the Shoreditch Grind coffee shop, enter the revolving doors, turn right, go through the cafe and take the lift to the 2nd Floor.
