A lecture by Professor Katharina Pistor (Columbia Law School)


Katharina Pistor is a professor at Columbia Law School, where she teaches corporate law, law and finance, and law and development. She is a member of the Berlin-Brandenburg and the European Academies of Science and the Club of Rome. She is the author of the “The Code of Capital: How the Law Creates Wealth and Inequality” (2019). Her most recent book is “The Law of Capitalism and How to Transform It” (Yale University Press, 2025).


This lecture will be chaired by Professor Ernest Lim (National University of Singapore and CTLS Academic Co-Director).


This lecture forms part of the research and public engagement work taking place at CTLS this year.
