****Only those who have already attended THE WOLVERHAMPTON DOMESTIC VIOLENCE FORUM'S 'Domestic Violence: Risk Assessment, MARAC, Safety Planning and Support session' WITHIN THE LAST 6 MONTHS are permitted to attend the training.****


It is compulsory that the above session delivered by the WDVF is attended prior to the coercive control session - alternative domestic violence training does not qualify. Candidates that sign up to this Coercive Control session without attending the forum's domestic violence session beforehand will not be permitted to stay for the session and will be asked to leave.

**The trainers can recognsie who has or hasn't attended the first session as we are the sole deliverers**


The Wolverhampton Domestic Violence Forum’s Coercive Control and Domestic Abuse training session is a 3 hour session designed to increase professionals' awareness of the prevalence of coercive control and the central role it plays in cases of domestic violence/abuse.

  • Understand ‘what is coercive control’ and how the concept was developed.
  • Explore the myths and stereotypes regarding Domestic Violence/Abuse, focusing on victim blaming.
  • Understand the difficulties that victims/survivors face due to coercive control/DA.
  • Understand coercive control/DA within a context of power and control.
  • Understand the law, criminal justice system and policing practice in relation to coercive control.
  • Understand how to access support services for victims/survivors.
  • Explore how you as a professional should respond to victims of coercive control/DA.

Due to limited spaces please cancel your place via Eventbrite if you are no longer able to make it.

**Please park at the civic car park and walk over through the underpass. There are not enough spaces at the Archives to park there.**
