About this event

Stephen J. Cook is a local author, whose personal knowledge of Bristol features strongly in his recently published debut thriller, Angels In The Architecture. In 2016 he published Words for Lost - a short collection of poetry and prose.

Angels In The Architecture: An Inspector Page novel is the first in the Jim Page series....

DI Jim Page is set in his ways. He doesn’t do change very well, so when he returns from leave to find he has been teamed up with rookie DC Louise Connor he is less than pleased. But there isn’t time to complain. A body has been found in the middle of Bristol and the two detectives must get to work straight away.

Reader reviews of Angels In The Architecture

'An excellent debut novel. If you enjoy crime/detective novels and you love Bristol, this book is for you'

'A massively enjoyable debut novel, with sound plot and lively, plausible characters. Being set in my town of birth, Bristol, engaged me beyond the storyline and the scattered musical references throughout were the icing on the cake'

'A cracking thriller, set in Bristol. Enhanced by the author’s obvious familiarity with the streets, and hostelries, frequented by the novel’s engagingly prickly anti- hero'
