About this event

We host coffee mornings every month in South Bristol for parent carers of children and young adults that have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

`There is no need to book, please just come along for a chat with our reps and other families who “get it”. We are happy to talk through any problems or issues you are facing over a nice cup of tea (or coffee!).

SEND and You can offer advice on all areas of SEND including school-based support, Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP) Support plans, suspensions, part-time timetables, EHCP appeals and judicial review.

We usually have other services at our coffee mornings who can help with a range of advice from carer's support advice to information on local events.

An important role of the Parent Carer Forum is to hear about the experiences of parent carers in Bristol. We would like to hear from you about your experiences with SEND services so that we can be sure that your voice is heard so that we can shape the future of SEND services together.

To ensure an appointment with SEND and You or Carer Support Centre, please make a reservation by obtaining a ticket in advance. Unfortunately, we may not have the capacity to accommodate walk-ins on the day of the event. Additionally, please take note that SEND and You as well as Carer Support Centre may not be available at every session, so we kindly request that you review your ticket carefully for specific details. Your understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated.

Organised by

Bristol Parent Carers is a friendly group of volunteer parent carers, caring for children and young people (0-25 years) with Special Educational Needs, and Disabilities (SEND) who live in Bristol. Our expanding group comes from all different backgrounds and communities in Bristol.

We offer support and signposting for families across Bristol to that they receive the right support, at the right time, and in the right way. We also work together with local SEND services across Health, Education and Social Care, in order to shape the experiences that services provide for all families in Bristol. It's really important to share your views with us so that we can use your feedback to ensure local services deliver the kind of support local families expect.
