Cold War Avionics Building tour
Join us for an exclusive tour of the Alconbury Weald Cold War Avionics Building!
Take a tour around the unique Cold-War-era military bunker which was designed to survive chemical and biological attack. The Grade II building was completed in 1989 and it was one of the largest in the UK. Built to process intelligence data collected by the TR1 reconnaissance aircraft, it is one of the UK’s most sophisticated buildings of its kind.
For the Bunker visit on 6th May, we will meet at The Watch Office Bar and Kitchen, PE28 4XA.
Nicky suggests we meet at the Watch office at 3.20pm - 3.30pm to grab a coffee before heading off to the bunker in as few cars as possible. If you are not able to get there in time for a coffee, please try to get there for 3.45pm as it is a 15 minute drive to the bunker.
The Bunker is a 15 minute drive away, through a restricted area. If you could car share as much as possible.
The tour should take about an hour.
