(English translation below)

Bydd Dr. Lyn Davies, cyn-bennaeth Astudiaethau Lleisiol Coleg Brenhinol Cerdd a Drama Cymru ac arholwr profiadol Coleg y Drindod Llundain, yn cynnal dosbarth meistr a fydd yn archwilio rhai o'r unawdau o sylabws yr Urdd 2019 yn ogystal â dewis o repertoire o sylabws Canu Coleg y Drindod Llundain 2018-2021.

Bydd y gweithdy'n rhoi cyfle i Dr. Davies rannu ei brofiad dysgu helaeth gydag athrawon a myfyrwyr, gan ystyried sut i wella techneg a pherfformiad.

Byddwn hefyd yn croesawu disgyblion o ysgol leol, diolch i Gynrychiolydd y Drindod, Nia Morgan Thomas, a fydd yn perfformio yn ystod y dosbarth meistr.

Bydd Rachel Kilby, Ymgynghorydd Rhanbarthol y Drindod Cymru ar gael i ateb unrhyw gwestiwn sy'n ymwneud ag arholiadau cerdd y Drindod sy'n cael eu graddio, yn ogystal â'r bartneriaeth gyffrous rhwng y Drindod a'r Urdd.

Mae Dr. Lyn Davies wedi dilyn gyrfa fel cyfansoddwr, unawdydd bariton, cyfarwyddwr côr, darlledwr, a gweinyddwr y celfyddydau yn ogystal â bod yn gyn-gadeirydd y Tŷ Cerdd.  Ganwyd yn Llandybie, astudiodd cyfansoddi yn Academi Gerdd Krakow gyda Penderecki, Schaffer, Buijarski a Stachowski. Llwyddodd i gwblhau PhD ym Mhrifysgol Cymru.

Dr. Lyn Davies, former Head of Vocal Studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and experienced Trinity College London examiner will host a masterclass exploring some of the solo songs from the Urdd syllabus 2019 as well as a selection of repertoire from the Trinity College London Singing syllabus 2018-2021.

The workshop will provide an opportunity for Dr. Davies to share his extensive teaching experience with teachers and students, looking at how to improve technique and performance.

We will also be welcoming local school pupils, courtesy of Trinity Representative Nia Morgan Thomas, who will be performing during the masterclass.

Rachel Kilby, Trinity's Regional Consultant for Wales will be on hand to answer any questions regarding Trinity's graded music exams and the exciting partnership between Trinity and the Urdd.

Dr. Lyn Davies has pursued a varied career as a composer, baritone soloist, choral director, broadcaster, teacher, lecturer, examiner, and arts administrator and is the former Chair of Tŷ Cerdd.  He was born in Llandybie, studied composition at the Krakow Music Academy with Penderecki, Schaffer, Buijarski an Stachowski and later gained his PhD from the University of Wales.
