Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

How do organisations with resources successfully support projects that strive to have a positive impact on people and the world? And how do organisations do that in an increasingly complex ecosystem? How can we tease out the impact we have had in amongst the context in which the projects are taking place? How do we learn from philanthropy and CSR of old, and apply progressive practices and principles today? And how can we work together collaboratively to encourage joined-up change rather than exacerbating rooted divisions?

These are some of the questions we are posing to ourselves as a new, small foundation. We are reading all the books, bribing experts with cups of coffee to pick their brains, hounding on-the-ground action-takers both in the UK and overseas—all in the hope of figuring out the best approach to positve, progressive philanthropic and sustainable projects.

We realise that others are really keen to take part in these conversations too, which is why we are hosting a day of workshops, roundtables and keynotes to kickstart dialogue and reflection amongst a wider group of funders and CSR leads.

The day's programme is still developing, but we so far have confirmed:

Breakfast, lunch, tea, coffee and snacks will all be provided.

The aim of the day is to provide training, insight and peer support to senior decision-makers across the business, public sector and philanthropic worlds to navigate how to work collaboratively within a complex ecosystem of needs and resources. We hope it will be a highly engaging professional development opportunity that will lead to new approaches to strategy, management and impact.

We are limited the numbers to 25 attendees so that it can be an immersive day. We strongly encourage CEOs, chairpersons, senior executives and other key decision-makers to attend.

Please note: this event is only open to grant-making foundations, CSR teams, public sector funders and other philanthropists or business leaders keen on directing their resources to positive social and environmental ends. Grant-seeking organisations and projects will not be able to attend. We will run the day based on Chatham House rules so that funders and other resourced organisations and individuals will be able to have honest conversations about their work and ambitions.
