About this event
An ESRC Festival of Social Science 2021 event
What's on offer?
This talk will take about 1.5 hours, with time included for Q&A.
What is it about?
Every community is affected by crime and the harm it causes. Many of the people who offend most frequently are also some of the most vulnerable, who need support from a number of different local agencies. A large proportion of the prison population has some form of mental ill-health, social and communication difficulties and is marginalised and excluded within society. There is therefore huge potential for criminal justice, health and social care services to work together for better outcomes across the board. This project argues that this should include the prisoner as well.
Join us to learn about how BU is drawing on insights from all stakeholders in its European research, to improve collaboration between correctional, health and mental health services.
