Event description

Description

More than 7 million tonnes of food is thrown away every year in the UK. At the same time, 8.4 million families are affected by food poverty and one in 10 children grow up without regular meals. We love food and believe Norwich can do more to ensure our eating habits are healthy, sustainable and fair to everybody

On March 7th, as part of the Norwich Sharing City campaign, we’ll bring together inspiring local organisations that are tackling the issue of food waste in Norwich. Find out what Norwich FoodHub and FoodCycle are currently doing to combat this issue, learn a few recipes to use your food waste from Cooknst, and discover how Norwich City Councillor, Karen Davis, is using surplus food to fight food poverty. There’ll be Q&A sessions, and an opportunity to see what can be made with food waste.

Come along to Hawthorn cocktail bar from 17:45 to hear about the initiatives that are tackling food waste in Norwich, and join us to discuss new partnerships between local businesses, charities and the general public.
