Suitable for ages 8-18. Children can be left unaccompanied for this session.

During ‘The Big Draw’ we’ll be inspired by our current exhibition, Broken / Makeshift, and collaboratively screen printing a giant decorative pot!

Let’s work as a team to decorate an empty 2D fabric vase with colour and pattern. We’ll be cutting out zig zags, spots and stripes, as well as detailed decoration to adorn our GIANT pot. As a group, we’ll mix our own colours and learn about colour theory to create a colour scheme for our creation.

Buddy up and start printing as a duo, helping each other hold down the screen to work out where the pattern should go. We’ll have lots of space to cover, so there’ll be plenty of opportunity to print.

At the end of the week, the piece created will be on show within the Gallery from Friday 31st October – Sunday 2nd November, along with other artworks created during The Big Draw.

About The Big Draw Festival

Since its launch in 2000, The Big Draw Festival has championed drawing as a universal language and a powerful tool for learning, self-expression, and innovation. Every October, organisers across the globe sign up to be part of the festival, hosting everything from hands-on workshops and exhibitions to large-scale collaborative projects.

The Big Draw Festival is made up of thousands of drawing activities that connect people of all ages with schools, galleries, museums, libraries, heritage sites, village halls, refugee organisations, outdoor spaces, artists, scientists, designers, illustrators, inventors and each other.
