Collage Making with Jerry Scott
Tue 2 May 2017, 18:30 – 20:30 BST
As part of our annual Langwith Scott Awards we are running a series of Arts Workshops in the College.
Attendees will learn the basic techniques used to make paper collages. This will include the use of wheat starch paste (a low cost, effective and environmentally gentle glue), choosing cut out materials, managing the substrate (paper) and so on.The workshop will be hands on after a brief introduction and participants can expect to create one or more collages during the session. Because Jerry is an abstract artist, he will encourage the participants to work in this way too, not least because this should encourage an uninhibited approach while people become familiar with the techniques. The emphasis will be on colour and pattern.
The tuition is £2 per attendee, this is a contribution towards material costs.
Workshops are open to students, staff and members of the public. All workshops take place in the Langwith College in our 'Basement' common room. We ask all participants to arrive at th College reception by 18:30. Parking is free after 18:00 in the Field Lane car park.
The Langwith Scott Awards exist to promote artistic creativity of all kinds. We encourage all paticants to submit their works in for the Awards. This year's theme is 'People Power"
