Tuesday 7 – 9.15 PM
28 February – 28 March 2017
Tutor: Rachel Mcbrinn
A 5-week evening class exploring collage as a form of image-making, looking at a range of contemporary methods. Beginning with set exercises, the students will develop their own visual language leading to a more self directed piece in the final weeks. We will work observationally as well as generating images and ideas through the process of collage itself, working with a range of found imagery, photographs, papers and surfaces.
Collage is a wonderfully versatile technique and is used by a wide range of artists and
designers, either as a preparatory practice for pieces in other media or as finished works in themselves. The freedom of collage allows for unexpected connections and juxtapositions to be made, ideal for generating new ideas, situations and compositions.
This course is suitable for all abilities.
