Principal Librarian Peter Ross describes how Guildhall Library’s collection of cookery books, now numbering more than 10,000 volumes, has evolved over the last 100 years to include Italian cook books from 1499 and recipes by 18th century ‘celebrity London chefs’ alongside the personal libraries of Elizabeth David, Arabella Boxer and many others.
