Hear from an unabashed NASA fan and all round space nerd on collecting vintage NASA photography. Until recently collecting NASA memorabilia was limited to autograph hunters and traded pieces of mission ephemera. In recent years an entirely new market has developed and matured with an increasing demand for unsigned, vintage NASA photographs. Printed shortly after the event depicted their value lies in their age and haunting nostalgic beauty.

This talk will cover the speaker's own journey through collecting vintage NASA photographs and extensive professional experience exhibiting and selling them over the past five years. The market for iconic images - such as the Apollo 11 'Visor', Apollo 8 'Earthrise', Apollo 17 'Blue Marble' and other celebrated photographs - will be discussed. In particular we'll examine some of the recent auction results explaining how prices have changed over the course of recent sales. Introductory advice on collecting vintage photography and photography in general will also be offered.

Henry Little is a Co-Director of www.vintageNASAphotographs.com and author of 'For All Mankind: A Brief Cultural History of the Moon' (The White Review, 2013).
