as a world leader in precision medicine.
We are excited to present a fresh and engaging programme for Industry Day 2017 and to invite you to the official opening of the Imaging Centre of Excellence (ICE). It will showcase our investment in a Clinical Innovation Zone and creative infrastructure to allow academics, industry partners and the NHS to work together within state of the art facilities to deliver a shared vision of a world-leading precision medicine ecosystem.
Professor Sir Mark Walport, Chief Executive Designate of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), Government Chief Scientific Adviser and Head of Government Science and engineering Profession and UKRI will officially oepn ICE and give the keynote address. Professor Sir Mark Walport will officially open our Imaging Centre of Excellence (ICE) and give the keynote address at our Imaging, Innovation and Impact conference. He has recently been appointed to head Britain's newly created research funding organisation; the first chief executive of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) - an umbrella body that will oversee the distribution of £6bn of research funding annually. Sir Mark is also currently the government's chief scientific adviser
ICE will host cutting edge imaging clinical research facilities which provide a nexus for academic, NHS and industrial expertise into brain imaging whilst further strengthening our position as a world leader in precision medicine. ICE hosts a 7 Tesla MRI scanner, the first of its kind fully integrated within a clinical site in the UK, underpinned by clinical expertise in stroke, cardiovascular disease and brain imaging.
The official opening of ICE will be accompanied by a Civic Reception lunch and champagne reception hosted by Lord Provost Sadie Docherty. There will also be exhibitions, partnering opportunities, displays and networking. In the afternoon, two workshops will run in parallel. One workshop will focus on whole body imaging, whilst the other workshop will foster discussion around funding innovation with Innovate UK and KTN with contribution from Invest Glasgow.

To mark the opening of the ICE building and 7T MRI facility, a pre-Industry Day Imaging Symposium will be held on 28th March 2017. This scientific symposium will offer the opportunity to hear from and interact with leading experts in ultra-high field MRI.
