About this event:
COLLISIONS is an annual festival dedicated to the thriving culture of practice research at Central. COLLISIONS invites postgraduate students at Central and elsewhere interested in developing practice research alongside others, to share short work in a semiformal setting, and contribute to furthering the conversation around the field of practice research.
For this year’s edition of COLLISIONS, we are asking what the process of COLLISION offers:
- A temporal rupture, an unstable interval, a threshold.
- A meeting of contradictory logics, forms, bodies, or disciplines.
- A shock, disorientation, or renewal.
- A fragmentation: splintering dominant narratives, unmaking hierarchies, dismantling norms.
- A deconstruction: unravelling material, temporal, spatial, or ideological structures.
- A moment of friction, refusal, or radical reassembly.
- A beginning, an end, or a work-in-progress.
- Bang!
We invite you to propose your own Collision.
At COLLISIONS you may experience:
- Performances
- Participatory practices
- Presentations, lecture performances/performance lectures
- Performative acts
- Workshops
- Film/Media installation
- Posters or images suitable for gallery display
- Any other forms of practice that might expand the boundaries of a practice research festival
Refreshments: Lunch will be provided, with vegetarian and vegan options available. If you have specific dietary requirements, please email Collisions.Festival@cssd.ac.uk, clearly outlining them.
PLEASE NOTE: This conference is open to all, but advance registration is essential. Due to capacity, this conference will only be taking place in person.
