Event description

Description

AT SALTAIRE

Join local milliner Jen Levet to learn how to make colourful silk flowers from scratch and then how to assemble these into a headpiece.

Students will learn how to draw and cut petals, how to assemble the flower buds using stamen in the centre and then use their flowers to make a headpiece. There will be a couple of headpiece styles to choose from and students are also free to make as many headpieces as they can in the time!

This workshop also covers a little bit of colour theory and how to pick colours for the petals to create an ombré palette and how to play with colour hues and colour combos.

Lastly you will also have a chance to make flowers out of feathers and the simplest way that milliners trim feathers for hatmaking and millinery trim.

Skill level: Suitable for complete beginners.

Cost: £35 - includes all materials and equipment use on the day. Complimentary tea and coffee provided.
