Colourful Semantics Live Training

Course Overview

This interactive workshop explores how you can use Colourful Semantics as a language intervention to support children with SLCN. Colourful Semantics was developed by a speech and language therapist as a method of teaching children to understand and constructtheir own sentences using a specific colour coding system. This visually engaging intervention can be used with a range of children both in mainstream and specialist education settings.

All our training is delivered by our highly qualified Speech and Language Therapists.

Learning Objectives

· Gain an understanding of what Colourful Semantics

· Be able to identify the colours used and what they represent

· Understand the practical implementation considerations for Colourful Semantics

· Learn how this approach can be embedded across the curriculum

· Learn how to make Colourful Semantics interactive and fun for children

· Learn how Colourful Semantics can be transferred to written sentences and written language comprehension

· Gain an understanding of who can benefit from Colourful Semantics

· Be able to identify children who would benefit from the Colourful Semantics intervention approach

· Develop your knowledge and understanding of how to support a child’s progress in developing various sentence structures

· Develop your confidence with incorporating it into lesson plans and adapt the approach to a whole class activity, small group work, or one-to-one intervention

Our training courses are perfect for education and childcare professionals, such as teachers, teaching assistants, and SENCO’s. The course is also suitable for speech and language therapists and student SLTs.

Chatterbug Academy is a training sub-brand of Chatterbug Limited. These Terms and Conditions govern the best practices for delivering our training respectfully and in any format. By making a payment, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms.

1. Attendee Obligations

Attendees are required to have their camera on for the duration of all live training sessions. This helps foster a respectful environment and facilitates interaction between attendees and the trainer. If there are exceptional circumstances where this may not be possible, please notify the Training Coordinator in advance.

2. Payment and Fee

The cost applies per participant and includes VAT (where applicable). Access to the virtual room will be granted only to the email provided during the checkout process. Additional participants are not permitted. Group discounts are available; please contact us for details.

3. All rights reserved

We reserve the right to expel any attendee who fails to comply with these terms and conditions, without prior notice or a refund. Expelled attendees may also be prohibited from future sessions at our discretion.

4. Data protection

All training sessions are recorded for training and promotional purposes. By attending, you consent to being recorded. Please avoid sharing sensitive personal information during the session. We ensure that all recordings are handled in compliance with data protection regulations.

5. Cancellation

Cancellations can be made up to 5 business days before the session without charge. To cancel, please email training@chatter-bug.com. No cancellations are allowed within the following period, but we offer the option to reschedule to a future session. Please refer to our Refund Policy for full details.

For cancellations made 3-4 business days before the session, a fee of the price paid will apply. Please see our refund policy for further information.

No cancellations are permitted within 2 business days of live training sessions. However, we offer the option to reschedule to a future session.

6. Refund Policy

Refunds are processed according to our Cancellation Policy. Once your request has been reviewed and approved by our Accounts Department, refunds will be issued within 3-5 business days to the account provided.

7. Intellectual Property Rights

All training materials, including design, content, and production, are the exclusive property of Chatterbug LTD. These materials are provided for personal use only and must not be reproduced, shared, or distributed in any form. Violation of these terms may result in legal action.

8. Force Majeure

In the event of circumstances beyond our control (force majeure), such as extreme weather, government imposed restrictions, or technical issues, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule training sessions. In such cases, we will inform participants as soon as possible and offer the option to reschedule or refund.

9. Tech Requirements

Attendees are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary technology (stable internet connection, functioning camera, and microphone) to participate in the training. Chatterbug LTD is not responsible for any technical issues on the attendee's end.
