CoMA Glasgow
Event Information
About this Event
CoMA Glasgow will kick-start on Sunday 10 November with an afternoon event of playing and discussion. We welcome everyone potentially interested becoming a member, or just excited about the ideas of CoMA and wanting to join for one-off event. The afternoon will consist of rehearsal, followed by a short discussion of the ideas behind such ensemble.
We welcome all instruments at all levels, whether you are a learner, returning to playing after a break or an established musician. This is an opportunity to play exciting new repertoire.
Following this event, CoMA Glasgow aims to set up weekly rehearsals starting from January, and prepare for a concert in Glasgow as part of Festival of Contemporary Music for All held on the weekend of March 7-8th, 2020 across UK.
CoMA Glasgow will eventually grow into a large new music collective with members of all abilities, who will be invited to actively influence the future development of the group.
CoMA (Contemporary Music for All) was founded in 1993 to enable musicians of all abilities to participate actively in contemporary music. It has a national network of instrumental and vocal ensembles and an expanding international programme. CoMA's unique music collection of hundreds of works contains some of the most exciting and rewarding new music being created today and is an invaluable resource for professional, amateur and youth based ensembles.
