Many of us will have enjoyed using the Comber Greenway, whether to commute or for leisure, but how did the Greenway come to exist? This tour, led by Richard Kirk, Northern Ireland Director of the Institution of Civil Engineers, will take you from the Lagan Weir to Dundonald and back, giving you insight into the civil engineering which has made this public space possible. From the original railway to the most recent developments, this tour will help us better appreciate this brilliant example of built environment.
PLACE has partnered with the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) to bring you this project.
Accessibility: Participants should be cycling proficient to complete 11 miles in 1.5 hours.
